Vision assistant software

With a click on the right button the Assistant looks for connected sensors. As an alternative, the user can also link them with the program by entering the IP address manually.

If a sensor is selected, the Assistant starts the wizard offering three applications: completeness monitoring, object dimensioning and level. The wizard guides the user through the application settings. This is self-explanatory and intuitive.

The requested application can be set up and started in just a few minutes. A production vessel is filled with several individual products. With the help of the wizard an application for completeness monitoring is created. The sensor detects the full vessel and the products contained therein are selected as ROIs regions of interest. This is done by means of a mask that can be easily shifted, enlarged or otherwise adapted.

With a single mouse click the user teaches the sensor that the selection made corresponds to the ideal condition.

Then underfill is demonstrated to the sensor by removing a product from the vessel. It is not necessary to demonstrate underfill for each ROI. An object placed across the vessel indicates overfill. If the sensor detects one of the two undesired conditions, it transmits a fault signal.

In addition to completeness it is to be checked if the products are in the right box because a box with too low an edge may cause problems during stacking. The sensor measures the distance and switches when it is too high or too low.

Simply drag and drop the desired function blocks and interconnect them as appropriate with a clean graphical interface. For experts in image processing, an extended mode with numerous additional functions is included. Experience the power of a vision system with the simplicity of a sensor.

Using the contour assistant wizard, even an inexperienced user can set up the application in under 5 minutes. Using an anchor contour, the relative position and rotation of search zones or other models can be tracked. In the example below, solder beads on a clip are evaluated to make sure all beads are detected. Figure 2 shows the reference contour that will be used to monitor position and rotation. It is shown in pink and anchored to the search zones. Figure 3 shows that even though the clip is rotated, the anchor contour also rotates and the relative position of the search zones and blob areas remains constant.

In some applications, the step-by-step wizards may not optimize the area of interest. In these cases, any parameter can be fined tuned as needed in the user-defined mode. Watch the video for step-by-step guidance with the user-defined mode.
